We began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
Then we had the Show and Tell presentations. Everyone did a great job!
In language arts we worked on beginning sounds. For this activity JKs learn to isolate the beginning sounds and practice letter recognition skills. Students use the pictures as a visual reference to identify the words and the sound it starts with.
After that we practiced our phonics songs - Abeka and Jolly Phonics.
Right after lunch and recess, we read the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We tied the story with our UOI and did some language and math activities. For math JKs practiced 1:1 correspondence and for language we played alphabet bingo.
After second lunch and recess we had our math activity on sorting and graphing using goldfish crackers.
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
