What a beautiful day today!
In the morning JKs attended gym class with Ms. Jans. Then we had snacks, calendar time (songs, weather, count to the calendar and to 100th Day of School) and "Me Bag" presentations.
In language arts we sang our phonics song and used play dough to form the letter A, upper case and lower case.
While students did this fun activity, I continued with the "reading assessment" which is the recognition of the upper and lower case letters and the sound of each letter.
In the afternoon, we had French class with Mme. Jessica, 10-15 minutes of brain break (songs with actions).
Next, we did a numeracy pre assessment on number writing. Please, understand, these beginning of year assessments are completed just to give me an idea about what my JKs already know. This way we can maximize their learning!
After second lunch and recess, we had our first reading buddies of the year! And we love it!
Have a great evening everyone!
