In language arts we met our new animal friend of the week: Katty Kangaroo. We learned the sound, name and formation of the letter K and made a list of words that begin with K.
Next, JKs put on their detective hats and found all the Ks on their paper using the bingo dauber.
To challenge the students who already master the name, sound and formation of the letter K, we also did a ABC journal where they had to draw a picture that begin with K and write the word.
In the afternoon we had French and worked on numeracy. JKs did some fun activities where they practised recognizing and sequencing numbers 1-20.
After second lunch and recess we had library time.
*Today while students were doing their math work, I heard the most cute conversation. JKs were talking about their grandmas and what makes their grandmas the best.
'my grandma is the best because she got cats in her house'
'no, my grandma is the best because she lets me eat cake'
'hey, my grandma is the best because she makes the best pasta Genovese!'
Love to hear their stories! :)
*We will continue with our science experiment this upcoming Friday and will start putting our board/presentation together for the Science Fair coming up on Thursday, November 30th.
Have a fantastic day!
