Today we began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
Next, we put on our detective hats and found all the Es on our page.
Then JKs worked on beginning sounds. They had to look at the picture and color in the correct beginning letter.
Next, we worked on numbers from 6-10. JKs had to cut and paste, matching the number with the amount of dots. This is a great activity to increase their numeracy awareness and practice 1:1 correspondence.
In the afternoon we talked about the dentist visit and what are the steps we follow when brushing our teeth. The goal for this activity was exposing JKs to sequencing, besides reviewing with them the benefits of brushing their teeth . Ordering stories, events or directions, helps students to develop necessary skills such as reasoning. It also helps them become better writers as they learn there is a logical sequence of events in stories in life.
To finish off the day we had centers.
Have a great evening everyone!
