Merry Christmas!

We had a fun day!
In the morning we had a longer assembly as we did the IB awards, pie the police officer on the face, house game and the teachers ugly sweater contest. Next we came to class and had the Show and Tell presentations.
In the afternoon we decorate cookies and watched a Christmas movie.
To finish off the day we had the prize box.
Have a great Christmas everyone and a new year filled with blessings.

Next, we completed some activities dealing with math and language.

Happy Tuesday

Today our day was a bit different. We began the day with gym class, snacks, morning circle time and music class.
Next, we read the story "How The Grinch Stole Christmas"

 

After lunch and recess we met our new animal friend: Oscar Otter. We then sung our phonics song.

Next we worked on our Writing With Phonics workbook. JKs practiced writing the letter O.

Then JKs completed some fun Christmas activities dealing with math and language.

To finish off the day we had French class and story time with Ms. Hayward.

Happy Monday!

JKs are counting the days for Christmas!!
Everyone is so excited!
Today we began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
Next, we worked on Christmas patterns. JKs cut and paste the correct pictures in order to complete the pattern .
In the afternoon we had French class and made candy canes using fruit loops. JKs are taking their candy canes home.
Next, we had reading groups and sung our phonics song.
After lunch and recess we had reading buddies with the grade 4s.

Happy (cold) Friday!

We had a great day!
In the morning we had gym class, snacks and morning circle time.
Next, JKs attended music class with Ms. Hayward and we had the Show and Tell presentations.
We also found out that 'Fifi' likes popcorn! :)

In the afternoon we had French class and did some math activities dealing with patterning.
JKs also did some art today. We painted Christmas lights. Take a look:

Happy (very cold) Thursday!

I hope everyone stayed warm today! We had indoor recess in order to keep our kiddos safe!
We began the day with gym class, snacks and morning circle time. Our Elf decided to make a mess with shaving cream today! :/ JK thought that she got confused and thought the shaving cream was whip cream! :)
Next, JKs used shaving cream to write the letter N on the tables, it was a good sensory educational mess! The next challenge was to write short words that begin with N.

 

Then we sung our phonics song. I like their enthusiasm!

In the afternoon we helped the gingerbread man by counting all candies in the gingerbread house and filling in the bar graph. JKs are doing really well when completing graphs!
To finish off the day we also had the opportunity to watch the Oakwood's Christmas play. JKs did a great job as the audience!

Happy Wednesday

It was nice to see most of you yesterday at the Christmas concert.
Today we are back to our routine!
In the morning we had gym class, snacks, morning circle time and music class with Ms. Hayward.
In the afternoon we worked on 2 Christmas activities. First one dealt with beginning sounds and the second one dealt with Christmas patterns.
To finish off the day we did a fun activity using stickers to decorate a Christmas Tree.
This activity is great for fine motor skills. :)

Happy Tuesday

Today we began the day with gym class, Christmas concert rehearsal, morning circle time and snacks.
Next we played Christmas bingo.
After lunch and recess we practiced writing the letter N - uppercase and lowercase on our Writing With Phonics workbook.
Then JKs performed on stage.
I'm very proud of my 'Reindeers'. Great job JKs!

Happy Monday!

Wow! What a busy day!
With all the Christmas rehearsals we spent very little time in our class today.
We began the day with a full rehearsal in the auditorium. All classes are looking great!
Then we headed to our class, did our morning circle time with the help of the 'special helper'.
Then after lunch we had French class and were called out 4 times to practise for the Christmas concert as JKs are singing 2 songs. One by themselves and the second one with the SK-Gr.2 classes.
In between transitions we did manage to met our animal friend of the week: Nicky Narwhal. And practised writing the letter N on the dry erase boards. We hope to go back to routine after tomorrow. :)
To finish off the day we had centers.
